Chillingham Castle

On the ninth of december 2005 myself and deb did a sponsored ghost hunt to raise money for our friend’s two children. Our friend Lisa had sadly lost her life at a very young age to asthma, leaving two small boys so we raised £932.00 to try to give the boys a good christmas.

We started the night going on a ghost walk with Bob you will see Bob explaining one of the contraptions in the torture chamber with a big orb above his head. We all went to the chapel where the curtains started to blow out. Then the camera i had loaned from my brother, who is in Fatfield Haunted swithed itself off when i put it in my pocket. It turned back on so i took a picture of the bell. I went to view the picture to see if there were any orbs and it froze out. No matter what we tried it would not move from that picture. I had to turn the camera off until we left that room. I still have the original pictures with the disc and have sent a few copies to other paranormal teams to see if they can find anything. Myself and Deb started to investigate on our own, we stood at the main door and asked if their was anyone with us. We could hear the trees blowing in the wind but we were sheltered by 5ft of castle wall. When Deb called out again there was a eerie sound then out of no where all these leaves just came around this 5ft of wall and hit us in the face. That freaked us so we left to return later.

We decided to go to the courtyard where we would ask for any monks to show themselves. We heard a few knocks but nothing major until we viewed the picture, see if you can see the monk kneeling as if praying. At about 4.00am we went to the minstrel room where deb asked if anyone was with us. To my amazment the door stared to move. We asked for the door to be moved again which it did. We thanked them and asked if it was a little girl. Nothing, we asked if it was the little boy of the castle. The door opened right towards us, we stayed a while then left. We met two couples from liverpool staying at the castle in the grey room. They had strange things happen, a small toy horse on the fire mantle was standing but when they returned to the room the front legs were off and placed at the side. They heard a child crying and got some very strange photos.

As we sat in our room (the tower) the music from a jack in the box could be heard coming from the chair itself. We took the cushion from the chair to find nothing. We could not explain it, we had smells from burning torches but their was none an aroma of roses on the wraps of our sandwiches. At about 7:30am that morning we went outside and took some photos of the front of the castle. To our amazement when we enlarged the picture we found three faces peering over the edge as if they were watching us. They look like small children. We had a fantastic night and that’s how i got hooked on paranormal investigations. We would like to thank Bob and Chillingham castle for the best night and to all of the people who helped to bring a little cheer to two sad little boys (boys we will alway love your mam and will always love you two, god bless)
